Riley Marr is a multidisciplinary artist based in Santa Cruz, CA where the Redwood forests, the Bay, and a lifelong love for nature fuel her creative spirit. Raised in Salt Lake City, Utah by art educators, her early exposure to diverse mediums—from pottery and stained glass to mask-making and glass etching—laid the foundation for her expansive artistic journey.
Beyond painting and drawing, Riley has cultivated a unique skill set over the years, including glass lampworking, beaded jewelry, leathercraft, and sewing. Her early career saw her designing couture handbags that adorned the arms of stars like Uma Thurman, Cameron Diaz, and Queen Latifah, gaining attention in US Weekly and In Style Magazine. She's also made a mark by crafting decor for music events and weddings, transforming found, foraged, and upcycled items into striking installations.
In addition to her artistic pursuits, she has spent the past decade as a professional photo editor in the fashion industry, continuously expanding her knowledge in design, photography, and digital media.
Her current collection reflects a deep passion for exploring, California, nature, and vintage aesthetics. It features original photography, and paintings print transferred onto wood. Each piece is framed with handmade frames crafted from local reclaimed redwood and other discarded wood, embodying her commitment to sustainability and the beauty of reused materials.
Achieving her dream of creating a home in Santa Cruz, Riley is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the local community by proudly supporting The Homeless Garden Project as a featured local artist for the month of November 2024.
The Homeless Garden Project store is located at 1338 Pacific Ave. Santa Cruz, CA.
